About symposium

II. INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON THE PHILOSOPHICAL HERITAGE OF THE TURKIC PEOPLES

(24-26 October 2019, Kırşehir, TURKEY)

 

     Humankind who have tried to understand the essence and existence in all its aspects in the universe that he inhabits brought his quests to these days by pursuing it sometimes in the form of mythology, sometimes in the form of art-literature, sometimes in the form of religious thought and sometimes in the form of philosophy. This quest, together with the numerous resemblance among them, have took different shapes in different cultures and geographies. Just as humankind formed a living accommodation with supplies that were already present and subsequently produced by himself, in the same way he formed different expression styles from oral tradition to philosophy in an attempt to comprehend and express the essence and existence and bequeathed them to the new generations. Based on the idea of studying this heritage and bringing it to light, the second International Symposium on the Philosophical Heritage of the Turkic Peoples that the first one of it was hosted by Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University with the participation of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Bayburt University, National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, and The Library of the First President of Kazakhstan between the dates of 19-21 September 2018 at Bishkek last year is planned to be hosted by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in cooperation with Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Bayburt University and Turkey Authors’ Association, and with the financial support of Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism at Kırşehir this year.

     95 papers out of 135 papers that were submitted in Turkish, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Russian, French and English languages to the symposium that the first one of it was held last year were considered worthy for presentation in terms of the format and content. Papers were presented at 20 distinct sessions under the titles philosophical heritage, philosophy and literature, identity and belongingness, existence-time and space, mythology and art, culture and civilization, ethics-moral and education, moral and esthetics, etc. at the symposium that was held with the contribution of the scientists from the countries like Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Russian Federation, and France.

     Within the scope of the symposium which is planned to be held at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, it is aimed to bring the philosophical motifs to the light and reproduce them with different viewpoints by reviewing the cultural heritage of the Turkic Peoples that inhabits different parts of the world starting from the oral tradition till the written works. In the symposium which is planned to be held between the dates of 24-26 October 2019, it is aimed to bring together the scientists from different disciplines, particularly from Philosophy, Sociology, and Anthropology. It is targeted to form a common language and literature related to our history, culture, and civilization world’s resources, opportunities and issues with the help of this symposium. In the symposium, besides the topics presented last year, in the case of sufficient application, special sessions will be held on intellectuals like Cengiz Aytmatov, Cemil Meriç ve Fuat Sezgin, and particularly on Nurettin TOPÇU. Limited numbers of papers among the submitted papers will be accepted for the symposium which is planned to be carried out mainly with the invited scientists’ attendance. It is aimed to traditionalize International Symposium on the Philosophical Heritage of the Turkic Peoples that the second one is planned to be held at Kırşehir this year and each year hold it in a different country by enriching it with contemporary philosophical issues.
